A wooded slope in Shakerag Hollow in Sewanee, Tennessee: These photographs show a small slice of the visual richness found in this mountain hollow. As you view the slideshow, bring to mind your other senses: the warm smell of the leaf litter in early spring, the feel of rough tree bark under your palm as you move through the forest, the thumping chorus of katydids roaring through the night, and the variegated sounds of wind in trees.
